afflictions eclipsed by glory

So I was listening to the song How He Loves Us today. There is a line in this song that i have heard hundreds of times, but have never paid much attention to. "Afflictions Eclipsed By Glory". After listening to that line today i got to thinking. What does this mean. Afflictions means the cause of persistent pain or distress, and Eclipsed means to reduce in importance or repute.
After reading what these meant i was almost brought to tears. All of our pains whether it be physically, or emotionally are all wiped away by the Grace and the Glory of God. No matter what we are going through in life God is saying to trust and have faith in Him. To have Hope in a hopeless world Which sometimes is hard to do. But when we truly put all of our trust and faith in God, we finally realize how beautiful God is and How much He Loves Us.
